Strathcona County RCMP investigate bomb hoax at local high school

Sherwood Park, Alta. – On June 17, 2024, at 1:08 p.m., Strathcona County RCMP responded to a bomb threat at Bev Facey High School in Sherwood Park. School administration received a phone call where a male stated, “I have a bomb,” and hung up. The male caller did not provide any additional information. The school immediately went into a hold and secure and called the police to attend. Strathcona County RCMP General Duty members and School Resource Officers attended and searched the building. Officers did not locate anything suspicious, and the call is believed to a hoax.

Strathcona County RCMP respond to an incident at local high school

Sherwood Park, Alta. - On May 23, 2024, at 10:19 a.m., Strathcona County RCMP responded to a report of an incident at Salisbury Composite High School in Sherwood Park. Two male youths were involved in an altercation with a student, resulting in the deployment of bear spray. Strathcona County Emergency Services provided immediate medical attention to the student. No other students were injured.

Strathcona County RCMP and Strathcona County Enforcement Services Host Annual Bike Rodeo and Safety Fair

Sherwood Park, Alta. – The Strathcona County RCMP and Strathcona County Enforcement Services are pleased to announce the hosting of their annual bike rodeo and safety fair on Saturday, May 11, 2024. The event will occur at the Strathcona Athletic Park, at 1100 N, Cloverbar Road in Sherwood Park, Alta., from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.



Strathcona County RCMP Arrest Two Suspects For Fraud

Sherwood Park, Alta. – On April 2, 2024, Strathcona County RCMP received a fraud complaint from a local dealership. Strathcona County RCMP General Investigation Section (GIS) completed the investigation. It was determined a male and female attempted to purchase a vehicle worth over $90,000 fraudulently and were arrested.

 

Kimberley Dick (26), a resident of Edmonton, Alta. was charged with:

Strathcona County RCMP Return Sentimental Items to Family 14 Years After Break-And-Enter

Sherwood Park, Alta. – On Aug. 20, 2022, RCMP Capital East Integrated Traffic Unit arrested two males following a traffic stop near Chipman, Alta., for providing false names to police. Subsequent to arrest, police searched the vehicle and located drugs, a replica firearm and stolen property, including stamps, coins and letters.

Strathcona County RCMP Arrest Male on Outstanding Warrants

Strathcona County, Alta. – On March 13, 2024, Strathcona County RCMP Crime Reduction (CRU) attended a residence near Range Road 223 and Township Road 512 in Sherwood Park, Alta. to execute an arrest on a male wanted on numerous outstanding warrants.

Due to comments made by the male, the situation was deemed high risk, and the RCMP Emergency Response Team (ERT) attended along with RCMP general duty members and members of the RCMP General Investigation Section (GIS).
